Leligdonova was approved to represent her country to Rwanda by the cabinet meeting held on 30th July 2021. She will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Recently on 8th October 2021, Slovakia joined other countries supporting Rwanda’s response to COVID-19 pandemic with a donation of 280,000 vaccine doses.
At the time, Slovakia’s Ambassador to Kenya, Katarína Žuffa Leligdonová who joined other officials to receive vaccines upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, highlighted that COVID-19 pandemic can only be successfully overcome ‘if we join hands together’.
“That is why Slovakia has joined the EU family in Kigali to provide 280,000 Astra Zenecca vaccine doses to help Rwandan Government and people to control this pandemic,” she said.
“The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh “Friend”), from the hit series Friends, but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband,” Benson’s statement read.
Tyler passed away at his Los Angeles home Sunday after a battle with prostate cancer, which was first diagnosed in 2018, according to Benson.
“Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures. If you met him once you made a friend for life,” the statement read.
The actor was best known for playing Gunther, the manager of the Central Perk coffee shop, and Rachel’s admirer on the iconic 90s TV show for 10 seasons, but he was in numerous other titles including “Scrubs,” “Modern Music,” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”
“Friends” co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane told CNN in a statement that Tyler was a “genuinely kind, sweet man.”
“When he started as an extra on ‘Friends,’ his unique spirit caught our eye and we knew we had to make him a character,” the statement read. “He made Gunther’s unrequited love incredibly relatable. Our heart goes out to his wife, Jennifer Carno.”
Tyler first revealed he was battling Stage 4 prostate cancer in June, when he spoke to the NBC’s Today Show and said doctors discovered his cancer during a routine physical when he was 56.
The cancer had spread to his bones, he said, leaving him unable to walk. He was treated with hormone therapy.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and the second-biggest cause of cancer death for men in the United States, according to the Mayo Clinic.
While some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or even no treatment, others are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Completed recently, the park worth Rwf5.2 billion is located in the sectors of Ndera in Gasabo district and Nyarugunga in Kicukiro district.
The project was designed in 2015 and works started in 2016. The goal was for the works to be done in two phases with a completion date in 2020 but there were delays because of redesigning the project and change of the contractor.

It is meant to attract both foreign and local visitors in the City of Kigali.
The project is not only expected to provide social and economic benefits to the communities but also support innovative approaches to restore and conserve wetland ecosystems on 120 Ha of land organized in 5 sections, promote the sustainable management of natural resources and support livelihood diversification to enhance incomes for local communities.
As he celebrated his birthday on 23rd October 2021, Rwandans, friends and officials used different social media platforms to send best wishes to Kagame.
One day following his birthday on Sunday 24th October 2021, Kagame used his twitter handle to voice appreciation for all who sent heart-warming messages.
“I take this moment to express my sincere appreciation to all of you who wished and have been wishing me [over the years] Happy Birthday. Bless You all,” he tweeted.
Kagame also thanked friends and relatives for making his day a special one.
“Thank you to friends and family that made my Birthday a very happy one,” he said.
The President also revealed that spending his day with his grandchild was the best part of his birthday celebrations.
Paul Kagame was born in Nyarutovu, former Commune Tambwe, Gitarama Prefecture currently in Ruhango district, Southern Province.
He is the last born in a family of six born to late Deogratias Rutagambwa and Asteria Rutagambwa.
In 1959, his family fled to the north-east of Rwanda before moving to Uganda in Nshungerezi refugee camp, two years later.
Like many Rwandans, Kagame spent his childhood life in refuge in Uganda where he did primary and secondary school.
He commanded the liberation struggle until 1994 when RPA Inkotanyi soldiers stopped Genocide against Tutsi.
After winning the battle, Kagame held different positions serving as the Vice President and Minister of Defence.
On 24th March 2000, Kagame became the interim President replacing Pasteur Bizimungu who had resigned. He was elected for the first term during presidential elections held in 2003.
The Acting Executive Secretary of Nyamirama sector, Pascal Nkuriza has told IGIHE that clashes arose as the man ambushed the debtor.
“We went to the crime scene following the incident. We learnt that the deceased had lent Rwf200 to the young man and ambushed him to claim his money. Upon arrival, they engaged in heated argument which sparked fight. The man hit the debtor with a bottle who also hit him with a big stick on the head resulting into his death,” he said.
The murder suspect is detained at Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) Mukarange station awaiting his files to be transferred to the Prosecution.
It is suspected that he might have been killed and dumped by his colleagues after heated arguments.
The body was first seen in the morning of Sunday 24th October 2021.
The executive secretary of Rusheshe cell, Venuste Tuyisenge has said that murder suspects have been arrested.
“It is said that he clashed with colleagues from the area over small amount of money related disagreements which might have resulted into his death,” he said.
So far, four suspects have been arrested. These include a young girl aged 17 who provided information on the young boys’ clashes.
His body was taken to Kacyiru Hospital for postmortem.
The Western region Police spokesperson, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bonaventure Twizere Karekezi said that Nkurikiyimana, the owner of the truck, was at the time transporting foodstuff from Rubavu.
“Police officers, who were conducting their usual road traffic management duties, stopped the vehicle that Nkurikiyimana was driving transporting assorted foodstuff. As they were checking his documents for the driver and the vehicle, they realized that the motor-vehicle inspection certificate he had was forged,” said CIP Karekezi.
He added: “At first, Nkurikiyimana insisted that the certificate was genuine. This prompted the traffic officers to contact the Motor vehicle Inspection Center (MIC). It was confirmed that the certificate for the same vehicle had expired on July 6. The inspection appointment raised for his vehicle was approved for August 25, but the owner did not honor the appointment date.
Instead, he forged the certificate which indicated that it was issued on August 30, 2021 and was to be expired on February 30, 2022.”
He warned drivers and owners of vehicles to avoid such criminal shortcuts.
Nkurikiyimana along with the vehicle was handed over to RIB at Mukamira station for further legal process.
Article 276 of the law determining offenses and penalties in general states that any person who, with a fraudulent intention, produces a false written document, causes to write false statements or produces a conflicting declaration, is considered to commit the offense of forgery.
Upon conviction, he/she is liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than five years but not more than seven years and a fine of not less than Rwf3 million but not more than Rwf5 million or only one of these penalties.
The statement released last night shows that a total of 1,787,470 people have been fully vaccinated while 3,651,352 received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.
Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
The suspects belong to the same group, which has been conducting illegal mining and related unlawful mineral trade in Rulindo.
Seven of the suspects were arrested red-handed in Rutongo cassiterite concession, the District Police Commander (DPC) for Rulindo, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Pacifique Semahame Gakwisi, said.
They are Theoneste Mvukiyehe, 24, Fabrice Sibomana, 38, Eric Mbarushimana, 19, Jean Paul Bunani, 19, Charles Nduwayezu, 42, Eric Rwamihanda, 23, and Theoneste Manirafasha, 37.
Information about the group of illegal miners was shared by security guards at the concession, the DPC added.
“Another suspect identified as Emmanuel Habimana, 34, was arrested later trying to bribe the driver of Rutongo mining company with Rwf500, 000 to help him convince officers to release his colleagues,” CIP Gakwisi said.
He explained that the driver called the Police to report the alleged bribery and Habimana was arrested in the act.
The DPC said that the group was at the time arrested with seven sacks of unprocessed cassiterite minerals and traditional tools, which they were using.
The suspects were handed over to RIB at Murambi station for further legal process.
Article 54 of the law N° 58/2018 of 13/08/2018 on mining and quarry operations, states that; any person, who undertakes mineral or quarry exploration, exploitation, processing or trading without a licence, commits an offence.
Upon conviction, the offender is liable to imprisonment for a term of between two and six months and a fine of not less than Rwf1 million and not more than Rwf5 million or only one of these penalties.
The court also orders confiscation of any seized minerals or quarry in storage, trading or processing without a license.
Under article 4 of law n° 54/2018 of 13/08/2018 on fighting against corruption, any person who solicits, accepts or receives, by any means, an illegal benefit for himself/ herself or another person or accepts a promise in order to render or omit a service under his or her mandate or uses his or her position to render or omit a service commits an offence.
Upon conviction, he/she is liable to imprisonment for a term of more than five years but not more than seven years with a fine of three to five times the value of the illegal benefit offered, solicited or received.
Penalties provided under this article also apply to a person, who offers or promises to offer a benefit, by any means, an illegal benefit for him/ herself or another person to have a service rendered or omitted.
At least 52 churns were stolen when a vehicle transporting milk was involved in an accidents on October 21, at about 2am in Maya Village, Kabuga Cell, Kageyo Sector. No life was lost.
The District Police Commander (DPC) for Gicumbi, Superintendent of Police(SP) Ndahimana Gisanga said that the first group that arrived at the scene that night, instead of helping, stole all the milk churns.
“The milk cooperative reported the incident and the subsequent theft of their 52 churns. Police responded and we have so far recovered 29 churns from different homes, and arrested 10 people in connection with the act,” SP Gisanga said.
SP Gisanga lauded the local residents, who are facilitating the operations.
“When an incident happens, you give a helping hand but not to steal. We call upon the public to share more information on the whereabouts of other milk churns that are still missing, and other people connected to this criminal acts,” the DPC added.
The suspects were handed over to RIB at Byumba station for further legal process while the search of their accomplices and to recover other missing churns, is still ongoing.
Article 166 of law determining offences and penalties in general states that, any person convicted of theft is liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than one (1) year and not more than two (2) years and a fine of not less than Rwf1 million and not more than Rwf2 million, a community service in a period of six (6) months or only one of these penalties.
In article 167, the penalty for theft doubles if the act was carried out at night or by more than one person.
