The two-year old association currently made up with 79 associations and over 200 members brings together individuals and companies that are involved in brokerage services of selling, renting, managing and provide advice on real estate development and management.
Speaking to IGIHE, RWAREB chairperson, Alexandre Semarinyota, said that they established the association to formalize and professionalize the sector by removing the negative image that had been created over the years.
“Our image has been smeared locally yet the services we offer are internationally recognized and respected. We therefore decided to combine efforts so that we earn respect, get more clientele and profit from our job,” he said.
He said that working in an association will help members contribute to the development of the country through paying taxes and enable transparency in real estate management.
“We signed agreements with Rwanda Revenue Authority with an aim of supporting government in collecting taxes from the sector players among other services,” he said.
