{A girl thought to be Kigali Independent University (ULK) student is suspected to have committed suicide after falling from the 4th floor of ULK buildings.}
IGIHE has learnt the young girl jumped from the 4th floor yesterday around 17:00 hours.
The vice chancellor of ULK, Dr. Sekibibi Ezechiel has told IGIHE the circumstances of the death but declined to reveal more about the incident.
“It is true the girl jumped from the 4th floor and fell down. We immediately took her to Kigali University Teaching Hospital where she died on arrival,” he said.
He explained that more details can be obtained from the police which is undertaking investigations.
Eye witnesses, some of who are ULK students have testified that the girl went to the lecture room of masters’ students on the 4th floor from where he jumped yesterday.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown for she carried no identification documents.
