{The Israelian Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu will visit four East African countries including Rwanda. The visit expected in July 2016 will start from Uganda and later continue in Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia.}
It is 20 years since the Israel prime minister last visited the African continent.
Netanyahu recently told the parliament and ambassadors representing African countries in Israel that it is time to widely cooperate with African continent.
“Israel returns for Africa; Africa returns for Israel,” he said.
Currently Israel continues to strengthen diplomacy among countries including India, China and other developing countries.
Israel leaders say that the country is building friendship with African countries like Ivory Coast ,Togo ,Cameroon from West Africa and others from East Africa like Rwanda and Kenya.
Ambassador Yoram Elron Deputy Director General, Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Africa section has told Financial Times the number of countries willing to cooperate with Israel are increasing which makes Africa an important continent for Israel.
The Rwandan minister of foreign affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo recently visited Israel on January 18th 2016 where she held talks with Benjamin Netanyahu.
The visit was part of strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and Israel. In 2014 Rwanda became the first country signing cooperation agreements with Israel.
These cooperation agreements were signed by foreign ministers of both countries targeting bilateral relation and cooperation in political affairs and economy.
On June 11th ,2014 ,the minister of foreign affairs in Israel, Avigdor Liberman met president Kagame in Village Urugwiro and shared that the fact that Rwanda and Israel share a common tragic history should be a platform to improve cooperation in development activities.
Rwanda cooperates with Israel in agricultural activities and Rwanda students are sent in Israel for special trainings in Agriculture.
