{Former Rwandan Minister of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs and former ambassador to France, Jacques Bihozagara has died in a Burundi prison where he had been jailed since December 2015.}
Bihozagara was detained on 4th December 2015 in Mpimba prison in Bujumbura over alleged crimes of being a Rwandan spy.
Circulated news on social media indicate that Bihozagara has died of poison in Burundi’s Mpimba jail today around 3:00 pm.
Burundi government arrested Bihozogara alleging him to be a Rwandan spy.The deceased had left political affairs many years ago.
The Rwandan ambassador to Burundi, Amandin Rugira, has, via twitter account, said that he has been informed of Bihozagara’s death but not the cause.
