{President Paul Kagame yesterday presided over the swearing-in ceremony of new leaders including senior army officers and the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF).}
The ceremony was held in the parliament where Maj Gen Jacques Musemakweli was sworn in as the Army Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Forces; Brig Gen Charles Karamba as the RDF chief of air forces ; Brig Gen Joseph Nzabamwita took oath as the Secretary General of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) while Dr Gashumba Diane sworn in as the mister of Gender and Family Promotion.
President Kagame expressed hope that sworn in leaders will keep in tandem in working collaboration with fellows to serve the nation maintaining its integrity.
“Sworn in leaders have responsibilities of ensuring Rwanda’s security. We need to provide and safeguard the security of our country and that of the nationals, for sustainable security, which will consequently lead to development of our people,” Kagame said.
Kagame added that stability requires regional and global cooperation.
“As for Rwanda, we will do our part to ensure peace and contribute to regional security and beyond,” he added.
Meanwhile, the President called on the new leaders to “continue” working with their colleagues to ensure the country achieves its development agenda.
