Qatar Airways, the national airline of the State of Qatar recently participated in the monthly community service “Umuganda”, in Rwanda.
Umuganda is a state-organised day of cleaning that helps Rwandan residents come together to do a variety of public works and play a part in the revitalisation of the country.
Qatar Airways took the initiative this year to join the Umuganda movement by cleaning a street and the surrounding land to support the government objective of maintaining a healthy environment in Rwanda.
More than 20 staff of Qatar Airways’ Rwanda station office participated in the day-long activity demonstrating the airline’s commitment to be at the forefront in community initiatives.
