{The 1994 genocide against Tutsi has, for the first time, been commemorated at the same time with Jewish holocaust during an event that was preceded by a walk to remember Jews killed in Auschwitz-Birkenau, where Jews from Polland and various parts of Europe were gathered to be killed.}
Auschitz is taken as one of the historical places where severe killings intended to terminate Jews took place. It is said that almost 6 million Jews died at Auschitz killed by Nazis from German.
The walk to remember held on April 26th, 2016 was attended by Rwandans living or working in Polland of whom the majority are students. Rwanda was represented by Benedicto Nshimiyimana, the first advisor of Rwandan embassy in German.
It was also attended by the president of Rwandan Diaspora in Polland , Patrick Dusabe and Francine Mutesi,the outgoing president.
The walk to remember was followed by a visit to gallery of photos that carry memories of the history of genocide against Tutsi which was followed by watching a historic film dubbed ‘‘Mémoires Partagées’’ produced by Egal Egry from France.
This film showcases the history of one of Tutsi genocide survivor Sebaganwa Thiery who was invited in Poland as a witness, and talks about what he knows about Jewish genocide.
Talking to IGIHE, Sebaganwa Thiery said “Telling Jew’s genocide helps me to narrate my history,” he said.
Benedicto Nshimiyimana also talked about the history of genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda and explained the need to join Jews in the commemoration at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
“This is among acts helping to fight against genocide ideology across the World,” he said.
The director of Auschwtz-Birkenau museum, Andrzej Kacorzyk commended organizers of the event and for joining the museum he leads in preserving genocide history against Jews.
