President Kagame Attends Burundi Independence Celebrations

{{Today is Rwanda’s 51st Independence Day. The citizens will however, gather at Umudugudu level on July 4 (Liberation day) to jointly reflect on the country’s Journey towards Independence and the protracted struggle that led to total liberation of the country from bad leadership and colonialism.}}

The Local Government ministry calls upon Rwandans to honour the two days.

According to a tweet by RwandaLocalGov ‏@RwandaLocalGov , ” #Rwandans gather #Imidugudu to reflect on #Africa’s independence and #Rwanda’s journey towards self-reliance July 4 #liberation19 #Kwigira”.

However, Burundi, is also celebrating its 51st Independence Day since it shed off Belgian colonial rule.

President Paul Kagame and Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya are currently attending the independence celebrations in Bujumbura.
