5 Nurses Expelled from Ruhengeri Hospital

Five workers including nurses at Ruhengeri hospital have been expelled following reports that they have been overcharging patients compared to service rendered.

Patients complained that some time they are overcharged without consideration of their Health Insurance scheme.

A patient at the hospital who had taken her child for treatment at the hospital had been billed Frw 40,000 but this she noticed the amount was too high prompting her to findout from the hospital administration.

The Hospital administration later discovered, that the mother would have been billed only Frw17000 because she is registered with the Health Insurance Scheme.

The management of the hospital said more investigations will be conducted to discover all of those involved in such abuse of charging Excessive money.

The Head of the hospital Dr. Ndekezi Deogratias has said faulting workers will be expelled.
