{{Minister of Youth and ICT Jean Philbert Nsengimana has called upon commercial companies to support football academies across Rwanda.}}
The minister noted Saturday after a monthly community work in Kiramuruzi Sector in Gatsibo District where the Ministry of Youth and ICT invited Telecommunication Companies in Rwanda to support Gatsibo Football Academy (GFA).
Minister Nsengimana said that competitors in business can work together to help local football academies to get sports equipment and be competitive at international level.
Diego Camberos, CEO of Tigo Rwanda said that they’re happy to support this football academy in Gatsibo.
They donated much equipment such as bags for players. Diego
stressed Tigo will always support football in Rwanda.
Gatsibo Football Academy got also support from Airtel Rwanda where they received football gear; Marcellin Paluku, CEO of Airtel Rwanda said that they will help Gatsibo Football Academy to partner with Manchester United Football Club because Airtel has also a partnership with this English professional football club, based in Old Trafford.
Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) President Celestin Ntagungira said that Rwanda prioritized football among children; FERWAFA will support football academies across Rwanda.
Gatsibo Football Academy is training 314 children aged 4-17. Ministry of Sport and Culture, FERWAFA, Airtel Rwanda, Tigo Rwanda, ISPA and Star Times have donated to this academy.
