The support is intended for over 75,000 Congolese refugees and over 61,000 Burundi refugees in six camps in Rwanda.
The representative of WFP in Rwanda Edith Heines has said that the support comes in handy.
“We will use this support to supply food to refugees in Rwanda,” she said.
USAID is among major sponsors of WFP for emergency and development programs.
Last year, USAID donated USD $ 14.9 million to WFP.
