17,000 Computers Distributed to Schools Countrywide

{{Rwanda Education Board has revealed that 17,000 computers were distributed in secondary schools across the country.}}

The distribution of computers followed one year after the establishment of Rwanda Education Board (REB).

More than 49 schools have already acquired internet connection.

Though different achievements were made in a period of one year after establishment of REB, the sector of Education is still facing challenges of low education quality.

Director General of REB, John Rutayisire says efforts are being made to improve the education sector.

Poor quality education is said to be a result of an increase of schools enrolment. A large number of students were enrolled with low performance and this affected their success.

REB has already started building accommodation for teachers and new rooms for 12 year basic education. Progress is currently at 60%-According to REB Authorities.
