Candidates for National Exams Increased 20%

Statistics from Rwanda Education Board shows that the number of candidates who will sit for 2012 National Examination has increased by 20% compared to the previous year.

Emmanuel Muvunyi, Deputy Director-General of the Rwanda Education Board revealed that 178,000 in P6 will sit for Exam from 6th Nov to 8th November, 2012 and the number increased at 7%.

It was noted that O’Level students has increased to 5% meaning that they are 83,000 students; while the finalists of Senior six have increased to 7%. The number of senior six candidates is 33,000.

Muvunyi said the increase of candidates came as result of establishment of both 9 years and 12 years basic education that is supporting government to successfully implement the Universal Education.
