{President Paul Kagame yesterday attended a meeting on security and countering terrorism in the region held in Entebbe, Uganda presided over by the premier of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.}
The meeting was attended by seven African countries including Rwanda.
Regional countries have been hit hard by terror attacks in the recent past where in 2013 Al Shabaab militants attacked Kenya in Westgate, killed 59 people leaving more than 50 injured in Nairobi capital city.
Later ,Al Shabaab attacked Garissa University and killed 148 students .Al Shabaab also carried a raid in Uganda where they detonated bombs among people that were enjoying finals of the World Cup in July 2010 leaving 74 dead.
Such terror threats prompted, Israel premier, Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss with regional head of states on security issues yesterday.
President Kagame Zambian president, Edgar ;Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya,Slva Kirr of South Sudan, Ethiopian premier ,Hailemariam Desalegn and foreign affairs minister of Tanzania, Augustine Mahiga joined Israel premier ,Netanyahu and president Museveni yesterday in Uganda.
President Yoweri Museveni, of Uganda, expressed delightfulness to host the regional security meeting.
“I have hosted the regional security and terror countering meeting .I would like to thank all heads of states that have attended the meeting. We have discussed security issues and economic cooperation,” he said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said that heads of states pledged cooperation in fighting terrorism in the region.
Israel premier Netanyahu will visit Rwanda on Wednesday 6th July 2016 and hold talks with president Kagame and visit Gisozi genocide memorial.
