{The second intake of Professional Criminal Investigation Course that was pursued by 40 commissioned officers who also senior investigators graduated on July 02. }
The course that lasted for almost six months, aimed at equipping selected police officers with advanced competencies and skills enabling them to conduct and lead investigations both at national and regional level.
Speaking at the closing, CP Ntamuhoranye who presided over the ceremony, commended the graduands for their discipline and hard work during the course and urged them to maintain the spirit of hardworking even after the course.
“This course is one of the professional courses that the College conducts which turns participants into skilled leaders and managers at their level,” said the commandant.
He added that the knowledge they acquired was well packaged for them to use it and make impact in the field of criminal investigations.
The course that started on February 08, covered a range of examinable modules mostly related to law, criminal investigations, criminology, human rights and professional conduct required of Judicial Police Officer.
The Commandant further noted , “we expect you to be catalysts of improvement in the criminal justice system as well as in police field operations by executing your daily responsibilities professionally, you must refrain from corruption and misconduct; there is no room for a corrupt and indiscipline officer at RNP.”
The graduation event was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in charge of Criminal Investigations, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Jean de Dieu Gatabazi who reminded the graduands that the Judicial Police to which they belong is the cornerstone of the entire criminal Justice system and expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills acquired will respond to the aspirations of Rwandans to a fair justice.
