{President Paul Kagame has noted that the government cannot attain Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially poverty eradication, without maximizing benefits from activities co-jointly implemented by the government, civil society and private investors.}
President Kagame has made the remarks today in a ceremony of officially launching an Ecocenter built in Ruhunda cell of Gishari sector, Rwamagana district.
The Ecocenter provides various activities including a shopping center, fast internet, delivering materials to Ruhunda health center, a playground and quality water point built by the government of Rwanda and the Coca-Cola Company.
President Paul Kagame has said that such activities demonstrate that Rwandan’s wellbeing and development are everyone’s responsibility.
He said that such cooperation can help to attain sustainable development goals.
“It deeply places us in programs of sustainable development goals envisaged by the World. These goals can’t be reached by the government alone, eradicating poverty would be easy if there is collaboration,” he said.
President Kagame has requested Ruhunda residents to make a good use of availed infrastructures for development.
“Ruhunda citizens, I would like to request you to make a good use of new infrastructures so that they help you to reach your targeted development goals. Maintain them for their permanence so you and descendants can reap from them,” he said.
Muhtar Kent, the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Coca-Cola Company has said that such infrastructures avail development opportunities to the population and should be enhanced through effective collaboration.
