Rwanda Utility and Regulator Authority (RURA) has denied to have announced new transport prices across different parts of the country as circulated on social networks.
The news about new changes in fares of public transport started circulating yesterday on social media.
RURA has denied the news via twitter account.
“RURA has not announced new prices regarding public transport,” reads the tweet.
The recent changes in public transport fares were announced in October, 2015 in Kigali city and countrywide where fares were raised.
The initial price for one kilometer in countryside was raised from Rwf 18 t0 19 18 to 19 per passenger.
