Police moves step up on the national league table

Police Football Club has moved one slot up to the fifth position after beating relegation threatened Muhanga 2-0 on Wednesday on Day 23 of the Azam National League.

Striker Danny Usengimana grabbed the brace, scoring in each half to increase his tally to 11 goals, one goal behind Andre Lomami of SC Kiyovu and Davis Kasirye of Rayon Sports, who are both tied on 12 goals.

It is the second win for police in a row, after bad a performance in the past few matches.

The win increased the law enforcer’s tally to 38 points, tied with SC Kiyovu, who lost 1-0 to Mukura, but Police lead on goal difference.

Police captain, Fabrice Twagizimana Ndikukazi said the team requires “only wins” to be in top positions.

“We have had setbacks but we need to learn from our mistakes. We need to maintain this winning trek. We beat Gicumbi last wee, today we beat Muhanga but there are other matches left and they also count and we are going to focus on how to get maximum results in the remaining games,” Twagizimana said.
