Rusizi elders receive Kagame truck donation

{Elders that work together in Umucyo Cooperative, in Gikundamvura sector of Rusizi district have received the truck promised by President Paul Kagame when he visited Rusizi last year in July.}

The Hini truck was handed over by the minister in the office of the presidency, Venantia Tugireyezu who requested beneficiaries to make good use of the asset especially transporting their harvest to markets.

“Members of the cooperative requested for the truck to facilitate the transportation of produce to the markets with ease,” she said.

The elders including women and men have lauded president Kagame for fulfilling promises.

“Promises of President Kagame are converted into deeds .The donated truck will help us to live better during the evening of our lives,” said an old man Joseph Habyarimana.

Umucyo cooperative comprises of 341 old men and women who receive support from VUP program. The cooperative owns a banana plantation on 2 hectares and breeds 56 goats.
