Moslem youth from Ngoma district have been urged to keep away from any form of terrorist acts since they are contrary to true Islamic faith.
The call was made yesterday to over 80 muslim youth during the closure of a training of organized under the theme; Education, Health, Economics and Islam. Throughout the training, the participants were urged to keep away from HIV/AIDS live with integrity, peace, mutual assistance and supporting each other.
These training was meant to get the youth acquainted with principles and values that guide a true Muslim and to desist from any acts of terrorism because they are not related.
The youth promised to keep away from engaging in terrorism and follow the Quran and Prophet Mohamed teachings.
Asouma Byukusenge, one of participants, said he is going to mobilize others to avoid terrorism engagement.
“We have been equipped with adequate knowledge on youth in Islam. We have got explanations that terrorism is against beliefs of a Muslim .We are going to spread this message among other youth to avoid such wrong doing,” he said.
The executive secretary of Education Health and Economics, Sheikh Issa Muhoza said that they have preferred to train youth since they comprise a significant number and energy.
“We have decided to train youth to acquaint them with adequate knowledge regarding Islam and let them know that we have no connection with terrorists. Those Muslims that engage in terrorism tarnish our image saying they are fighting a holy war ’Jihad’ while the Quran doesn’t allow anyone to kill another person,” he said.
In the Islamic Summit of Experts from around the globe held on 10th January 2002 in Mecca, it was resolved that terrorism has no place in the Islamic faith.
