MINISPOC confirms forged tickets at CHAN official opening

{The Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC) has confirmed that some people forged tickets during the launch of CHAN at the match of Amavubi vs. Ivory Coast held on Saturday at Amahoro Stadium which let in a large crowd of unpaid attendants while a great number of people with original tickets stayed outside the stadium.

Bugingo Emmanuel, the head of Sports department in MINISPOC told IGIHE that they are following up cases of fans that paid but missed the matches at Amahoro Stadium and Huye stadium.

“We are still investigating to know the cause. I have heard that the same case happened in Huye district even though it was not severe. Of the sold tickets at Amahoro stadium, few of them were forged. Some fans with genuine tickets were left outside because of the forgeries,” he said.

Bugingo said that those who bought tickets will not be compensated.

He further revealed that even though MINISPOC has handed the selling of tickets to Innovys Company, the ministry may have released more tickets beyond the carrying capacity of the stadium, an issue they are investigating.
