The spokesperson of police in Eastern Province, IP Emmanuel Kayigi, has told IGIHE that Uzaribara allegedly killed her pregnant wife during the night on this 1st January, 2016 at his home with blunt objects. “He accepts to have committed the offense even though we have not yet established the motive of murder,” he said.
He further said that Uzaribara and Mukamana had no child together though the latter had a child from a former relationship.
IP Emmanuel Kayigi said that the killing has no correlation with festive season ending the year but a domestic-related conflict. He appealed on citizens to be counteractive on crimes by providing information on time.
If found guilty, Uzaribara will get a life sentence in prison as per article 140 of Rwanda penal code.
