Frodouard Niringiyimana has been detained at Kirehe police station over alleged murder of his mother, Esperance Nzamukosha. She was 56.
Neighbors of the deceased in Butezi cell, Gahara sector said that the suspect used to threaten his mother over inheritance having extravagantly wasted and sold his inherited property—land and houses, that saw him return to his mother’s sanctuary along with his wife and children.
The dead has been found in a maize garden by a resident who alerted other citizens and later informed local leaders .
The Butezi Cell executive secretary, Cyprien Hakizimana said; “We have been informed by her neighbours and we informed the police who have picked on with the investigations,” he said.
Hakizimana further said that Frodouard Niringiyimana, son of the deceased, is suspected of having killed his mother with a motive of taking over her wealth. The dead body of the deceased has been taken to Kirehe district hospital for autopsy.
