Land notaries across the country have been urged to keep integrity and get professional guidance in the process of boosting the delivery of good services.
During talks the ministry of justice held with land notaries from 30 districts of the country, sector notaries and notaries from Rwanda Development Board, they have been reminded to improve service delivered to beneficiaries.
Yankurije Odette, the head of Access to Justice Services department at the Ministry of justice, reminded notaries about their heavy responsibility where contracts signed before them can reallocate rights to another person and requested them to uphold the guidance of law.
The notary of Rulindo district, Niyoniringiye Félicien said that these recommendations
will help to widen knowledge, empowering them to improve their performance.
‘We are concerned with ordinary citizens’ development. These talks will serve as reminders of improving service delivery to citizens,” he said.
Notaries argue that they face challenges including ordinary citizens’ unawareness of land registration processes which delays the delivery of documents over citizens’ absence in following up their cases. A total of 48 sectors out of 416 have not yet got land notaries.
