{{According to IGIHE reporter on ground, life has normalised and residents have returned back to their homes after they had moved to safety in nearby Nyacyonga cell following gunfire this morning from the DRC side.}}
“Iam seeing residents involved in daily activities, shops are open,”IGIHE reporter says and is currently at the site with the Joint Verification Mechanism team.
He also says the Tanzanian and Congolese members in the JVM team are not pleased with seeing media at the site.
Mr Bahame Hassan, Rubavu District Mayor has called for calm saying Rwanda Defence Forces are in excellent position to contain the situation and protect the citizens.
Our Reporter also says one villager injured in Wednesday’s fighting has been discharged from hospital and is back home.
The Mayor also says schools have remained operational and other business activities have not been affected also urging citizens to remain united and support the Rwanda Defence Forces.
