Those children are from NUR Salam Boys Primary School and NUR Salam girls Primary School.
Rwanbatt 36 officially handed their support to the children on 26 August at NUR Salam Boys Primary School in presence of teachers and UNAMID Staff charged with civil affairs, Adam Adam.
Addressing the children, Lt Col Peter Kagarama, Rwanbatt 36 Commanding officer urged them to be committed in their studies and be free to talk to their teachers if anything is not well understood in class.
He told them that schools are opportunity for them to prepare the good future. He also promised that Rwandan peacekeepers will continue to help those orphans in the future.
When asked what they dream to become in their lives, the children responded they will be Ministers, Doctors, Engineers and so forth.
Schools Staff expressed gratitude and said Rwandans have always lived in good relations with Darfurians.
Besides the mandated tasks of peacekeeping, the Rwandan Contingent in Darfur helped the local population in other activities such as building classrooms, medical treatment, cleaning the environment.
