Zion Temple youth pay medical insurance for 1000 vulnerable individuals

{Youth members from Zion Temple church congregation in Kigali have paid medical insurance premium for 1000 vulnerable people in Rugarama and Gatenga sectors of Kicukiro district at a cost of Rwf3,000,000.}

The deputy pastor at Zion Temple, Dieudonné Vuningoma, said the donation was part of youth’s commitment of promoting households’ welfare and protecting Rwandan lives.

“They thought about paying medical insurance for 1000 people since Kicukiro district officials have revealed that more than 5000 people from two sectors are unable to pay the premium. The youth did the charitable act as an effort to play their role in protecting Rwandan lives,” he said.

The Zion Temple youth collected meant to cover medical insurance scheme of 1000 citizens.
Uwayisenga Florence, the Kicukiro district social affairs lauded youth’s efforts towards reducing the number of vulnerable ordinary citizens living without medical insurance.

“We had 12% of citizens without medical insurance. Paying for 1000 is pleasing since it reduces the percentage of people being short on medical insurance. We hope that remaining individuals will have their medical insurance paid shortly,” she said.

Uwayisenga requested citizens to work hard for self sustaining other than waiting for support. He also asked them not to wait until they get sick to pay for the medical insurance since accidents and or illnesses are abrupt.
