Genocide survivors in Gicumbi district at Mutete Sector have received support from World Vision worth Frw8.5Million in form of cement, clothing and cows.
World Vision provided about 300 bags of cement to renovate over 176 houses located at Mutete sector. The beneficiaries were also given hybrid cows.
During the handover event, Bosenibamwe Aime the Governor of Northern province was present including the World Vision director George Gitau.
The event was in line with marking the 19th commemoration of Genocide against the Tutsi that claimed over a million lives. At Mutete Sector, over 1000 victims of the genocide were laid to rest at the genocide memorial site in the area.
Gitau urged the survivors to work hard for a brighter and better future despite the past experiences of the Genocide in 1994.
