The World Bank has pledged continued support to Rwanda and commended the country’s proper use of aid provided.
Diarietou Gaye the World Bank country director for Rwanda, Kenya and Eritrea said that the World Bank will continue to support Rwanda’s Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS II).
The remarks were made while Diarietou Gaye was meeting with Rwanda Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi. Their Deliberations focused mostly on cooperation between the World Bank and Rwanda.
She said, “We are satisfied with the existing cooperation between Rwanda and the World Bank but most especially impressed by the results at Projects supported aid from World Bank.”
The Minister of FInance and Economic Planning Amb. Claver Gatete told media that the World Bank has pledged to support projects under EDPRS II.
Support will focus on investing in sectors such as energy generation and access, transport, and agriculture, among others.
The World Bank has previously supported projects in various sectors including; Health, Education, Agriculture and private sector.
