Strong winds earlier this week destroyed seven houses and a church (Adventist church) in Susa Village in Ruhengeri cell in Musanze district.
Local authorites confirmed the incidence and said affected residents have sought temporary shelter from their neighbors’ homes.
The victims have requested for government support so that they can come out the current situation which they say, affects their wellbeing.
Munyarugendo Manzi Claude, the executive secretary of Muhoza sector where the incident happened has said that the problem was reported to the District level adding that they are waiting for feedback.
However, Munyarugendo added that they have taken long lasting measures where residents have been urged to use quality materials while constructing houses as well as planting trees so that they can reduce the speed of the wind.
