Rwanda Ministry of trade and industry has asked wheat growers across the country to increase production and meet the increased market demand.
During a meeting with wheat growers in Musanze District, the Permanent Secretary of MINICOM, Emmanuel Hategeka said currently Tanzanian company working in Rwanda, AZAM, will require more wheat compared to what is being harvested in Rwanda.
He however, asked wheat growers to increase production noting that the market is available.
Jacqueline Nyiranzirorera, a wheat grower says that steady market availability will encourage them to grow more wheat since they are assured of selling at a better price.
Emmanuel Hategeka, assured wheat growers that AZAM intends to buy their produce for a long time and that the government will advocate for them so that their produce is bought at fair prices.
