{President Paul Kagame has said that Rwanda has no ill-feelings against people who constructively criticize the country’s leadership since it can lead to the development, but castigated people undermining Rwandans to insulting levels. }
President Kagame has revealed this today during the official opening of the 13th annual national dialogue (Umushyikirano) that has brought together more than 1000 participants including local leaders, security personnel, political parties, private investors and civil society and international community, Rwanda Diaspora and friends of Rwanda.
Through the meeting, Rwandans, residents and from around the world, are participating in the dialogue which will come up with resolutions and actionable recommendations for implementation.
“We have no problems with people coming up with advice or criticizing us wherever they are. However we cannot allow those who accept and say that we have attained many things, and then turn around to say that Rwandans can’t reach success; that’s not criticizing but insulting,” he said.
President Kagame said that there are many achievements to be glad for since Rwandans progress is apparent for everyone; Rwandans are ready to uphold and consolidate the attained achievements.
“The current Rwanda is far beyond that of 21 years ago. We know the value of Rwanda and Rwandans. We are ready to protect our choices, and we will strive for unity. We will never stop thinking big and looking far,” he said.
