Kanyonza district authorities have promised to solve the water problem in the town center within 18months.
John Mugabo the district Mayor told IGIHE that the water supply problem in the town center was due to damaged underground water pipes.
Fixing of the damaged water pipes had been delayed because management of the water supply was under a private Cooperative subcontracted to handle the water supply in the town.
However, Mugabo said EWSA has since taken over the management of the damaged underground water pipes and soon the problem will be rectified.
The Mayor noted that the damage in the pipes was caused by salt stuck in.
He added that with the support of lake Victoria water and sanitation project working in east African community,they hope that 1500 cubic meters will be provided every day in not less than 18 month.
Water supply in Kayonza town has been increased from 300cubic meters per day to between 500 and 600 Cubic meters of water per day.
