US Students to Learn from Kizito Mihigo Peace Efforts

About 25 students of Harwood Union High School in U.S. have visited KMP (Kizito Mihigo for Peace) to learn how the message that the foundation disseminates helps in the process of unity and reconciliation of Rwandans after the 1994 Genocide.

Arriving in Rwanda, the students were received by Kizito Mihigo who explained how the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi was planed and implemented.

Kizito explained that during Genocide era, local artists had a significant role in disseminating hate among Rwandans where they were calling upon ethnic Hutu’s to kill Tutsis.

However, Kizito added he decided to use his talent promote unity and reconciliation among Rwandans.

The Head of the delegation, Steve Rand confirmed that their visit to KMP has been an opportunity to learn about Rwandan History adding that they have got a lesson that will help them as students of Harwood Union High School.
