She said that UNDP particularly appreciates Rwanda’s polices that lead to results.
Helen made the remarks Monday during her courtesy call on Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Louise Mushikiwabo.
The two discussed key projects that Rwanda Government has accomplished supported by UNDP and how the government and UNDP can continue to work together to achieve more.
Minister Mushikiwabo noted that the UNDP supports Rwanda in key areas of poverty reduction, Governance, peace consolidation and Gender promotion.
On her Twitter account, Helen Clark wrote: it was a pleasure to meet Rwanda President Paul Kagame today; during the official opening of this year’s (2012) 7th African Economic Conference in Kigali.
This year’s African Economic Conference (AEC) is held under the theme: ‘Fostering Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Africa in an Age of Global Uncertainty’.
The organizers of the AEC are the African Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
