{{Former editor of Umurabyo newspaper Saidath Mukakibibi has regained her freedom after successfully completing a 3-year jail sentence.}}
Before her sentencing in 2010, High Court had found Mukakibibi guilty of threatening state security.
Mukakibibi has promised to carryon with her journalistic work as soon as possible;
“I was jailed as a journalist and I have been released as a journalist. Therefore I will continue with Journalism,” Mukakibibi told Voice of America radio.
Mikakibibi had been sentenced alongside with Umurabyo journalist Agnes Nkusi Uwimana.
Court found Uwimana guilty of threatening state security, fuelling genocide ideology, divisionism and defamation.
