Uhuru Wins Again

Kenya’s Supreme Court judges upheld the election of Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya’s fourth president after rejecting Raila Odinga’s petition in a verdict delivered Saturday.

Chief Justice Willy Mutunga in his ruling said the elections were indeed conducted in compliance with the Constitution and the law.

“Uhuru and his running mate William Ruto were validly elected,” said Mutunga in brief ruling at the Supreme Court shortly after 5pm Kenya time.

The verdict has now set the stage for Uhuru to take over from President Kibaki and he will be sworn in on April 9.

Meanwhile,Prime Minister Raila Odinga has conceded defeat wishing Mr Kenyatta well in running the affairs of government.
