Ugandan MPs Hail Rwanda’s Reintergration Program

{{Members of Parliament from Uganda have commended the way ex-combatants of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda are reintegrated in Rwandan society after undergoing civic education courses in Rwanda’s reintegration centres.}}

Ugandan MPs were Wednesday visiting Mutobo Centre located in Northern Province of Rwanda where they have got opportunities to learn about reintegration process and had discussions with over 200 ex-Combatants at Mutobo Reintegration Centre.

MP Simon Mulongo said that the way Rwanda has used to motivate ex-combatants to return can help Uganda as it has many rebel groups that are fighting against the country’s regime.

Ugandan MPs also commended how Rwandans receive former combatants without denying them rights of enjoying the benefits of living in Rwandan society.

The Chairman of Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission, Sayinzoga Jean said that Ugandans will be able to use what they have learnt from Rwanda while dealing with negative forces that are against the country.

However, Sayinzoga said Uganda may consider cultural factors while implementing reintegration programs giving an example of the fact that Rwanda succeed in the program is because Rwandans share the common culture and common language.
