They were apprehended on Saturday 26th March 2022 in Kageyo Cell of Mwiri Sector nearby Gasarabwayi business center.
As residents revealed, it was not the first time the young men slaughtered dogs and accused them to have sold dogs’ meat at different times lying to buyers that they are flesh of poached animals.
Speaking to IGIHE, the executive secretary of Mwiri Sector, John Ntambara has confirmed their arrest.
“These young men are gangs that have been caught red handed slaughtering a dog but declined to tell us where they had to supply meat. We have however learnt from residents that the duo wanted to sell meet to locals. The dog’s owner has not yet been identified,” he said.
Ntambara disclosed that the young men have been arrested on tip off from residents and asked them to be cautious as they buy meat.
The two young men are detained at Mwiri RIB Station pending further investigation.
