The incident took place yesterday when a gang with rudimentary weapons dug a water pipe in Gikombe Village, Sove Cell of Huye Sector.
According to Police they started digging the pipe at around 2:00pm and locals informed the Police.
At the arrival, around 6:00pm, the gang resisted by fighting back police officers, according to the Police Spokesperson in Southern Region, CIP Emmanuel Kayigi.
“They fought back police and officers shot and killed two, seized one and others run away,” he explained.
Last week, Police in Huye also shot dead two suspected thieves attempting to steal materials and machinery at camping site of Chinese Company constructing Huye-Nyamagabe road.
