Two sector executive secretaries from Burera district have been suspended for six months to give way for investigations into administrative irregularities they committed in the process of their day-to-day activities.
Suspended are Munyarubibi Jean Pierre, the executive secretary of Nemba sector and Nkanika Jean Marie Vianney, the executive secretary of Ruhunde sector.
In an interview with IGIHE, the mayor of Burera district, Uwambajimana Florence has said that the executives have been suspended but didn’t reveal much about the offenses of which they are accused but reliable sources have intimated that they are accused of irregularly handling the Girinka program.
Irregularities have been reported in Girinka program in different parts of the world and local leaders have been held accountable. The program is meant to benefit the most vulnerable persons but in some cases cow donations have ended up in the hands of the well-off people.
