Members of‘Tuzamurane’ Cooperative operating in Kabeza , Kanombe Sector in Kicukiro District have said they missed about Rwf 12 million they have gathered.
Some members of the cooperative said that Ngabonziza Jean who was the Head and treasurer of the Cooperative may have stolen the money.
However, Members confirmed that they have already filed a complaint against two individuals.
The District also accused Ngabonziza of encouraging merchants grouped in “Abadahemuka” Cooperative to strike and not pay taxes.
The Cooperative was distributing potatoes around Kigali City.
Mayor of Kicukiro Paul Jule Ndamage told the press that the cooperative did not meet the requirements and that even afterwards, it was suspended by the Council of Ministers in 2008 due to its malfunctioning.
Ndamage promised members of Tuzamurane that their money will be returned as soon as possible.
