{Tigo Rwanda, in partnership with the Kigali Veterans Cooperative Society (KVCS), have announced the first mobile payment system for parking services in Rwanda. With this service, car owners will be able to pay their parking fees with their mobile phone using Tigo Cash.}
In the first phase of this partnership, car owners are now able to clear all outstanding parking bills and fines using Tigo Cash. To use this service, dial *799# and follow the instructions.
Later on, from January 2017, car owners will be able to pay their parking fees by mobile without having to wait for a KVCS employee to first write and then present to them a parking ticket.
Tigo Rwanda Chief Executive Officer, Philip Amoateng, said: “This partnership with KVCS is part of our efforts to give our customers the convenience of using Tigo Cash in their day to day lives. Cashless parking is just one of the many innovations that Tigo Cash has brought into the market including Bulk Payments for Businesses and Bank Integration, a platform that links your Tigo Cash and Bank Account”.
KVCS Managing Director (Rtd) Major Frank Ntabana said, “We believe that this platform will help KVCS move in line with the country’s vision of being a cashless society. We are extremely confident that this partnership will give our clients better services. We are very happy to partner with Tigo”.
