Umuganda is a monthly communal cleaning exercise that takes place nationwide on the last Saturday of every month. All Rwandans and foreign residents are encouraged to come together to clean their local communities and neighborhoods.
Lauding the Umuganda exercise, Tigo Rwanda CEO Philip Amoateng said; “We are happy to be part of such a good initiative. As members of the Rwandan community, we should only ask how much our society can do for us but how much we can do for our society. As a company, we believe in actively giving back to our community.”
The Vice Mayor of Kigali in charge of social affairs, Judith Kazayire, who led the exercise, thanked Tigo Rwanda for being an active member of the Kigali City community.
In addition to participating in this month’s exercise, Tigo Rwanda provided refreshments for the Umuganda participants.
