Ten students and one teacher were rushed to hospital after they were injured in an explosion at the school laboratory.
The Explosion occurred during a chemistry experiment at Groupe Scolaire St Phillipe in Gisagara district.
Witnesses said some students that were involved in an experiment at the lab had left chemical products in unsecured conditions leading to an explosion.
Five students that sustained minor injuries received treatment and returned to school.
Bigira Alexis, in charge of Education in Gisagara District visited the students at hospital saying they were in good condition despite the injuries.
