Teacher Murdered, Body Dumped in Latrine

Barushyanubusa was strangled during the night of May 6. Her death came to surface when she had not reported for duty at school.

Attempts to reach her on phone were fruitless as it was switched off. This prompted an incquiry of her whereabouts leading to the news that she had been killed in her house.

Among the suspects held in connection with Barushyanubusa’s murder include a young man the deceased helped raise as an orphan. Its said the decision to murder his guardian was aimed at retaining her property.

Barushyanubusa had earlier notified neighbours of attempts on her life by the suspect she had helped raise as an orphan.

Sources reported that the suspects found Barushyanubusa in her room and beat her to death including inflicting deep wounds on her body and later with the help of his friend they dumped Barushyanubusa’s body in a pit latrine.

The assailants later covered her bed as though nothing happened.

The prime suspect, (his identity kept secret) is 28years, he admitted to Police saying he had indeed murdered Barushyanubusa who helped raise him since he was a baby and an orphan.

Neighbours and Police condemned the murder of Barushyanubusa saying the culprits should be punished.

Chief/Supt. Francis Gahima the Police spokeperson said if found guilty, the suspects will be sentenced to life in Prison.
