“Now in its 3rd year, the conference is endorsed by the region’s governments and the legal and private sector and aims to promote and support the growth and development of Eastern Africa’s arbitration practice and centres. The conference has tremendous support particularly from Tannganyika Law Society, TPSF and the government,” he said.
He said this year’s EAIAC conference will focus on the success of the last year’s Nairobi Conference where over 200 delegates from East Africa and beyond, comprising law firms, corporate clients and regional arbitration centres attended.
Simbeye named countries which have confirmed their participation at the conference as Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Mauritius, The United Kingdom (UK), Singapore, France and Tanzania.
“Keynote speakers and panelists are drawn from the government, private sector and legal sector. They will include Charles Rwechungura who is president of Tanganyika Law Society, Justice Havelock of Kenya High Court, Godfrey Simbeye and others,” he said.
