Tanzania plans to build railway line from Dar to Rwanda

{The Prime Minister of Tanzania Mizengo Pinda has revealed that Tanzania is planning to develop a rail way from Dar es Salaam to Rwanda, DRC and other countries in the region.}

Mizengo was, Monday, 20th Oct, speaking to the Global conference for African investments held in London.

Mizengo addressed the Conference alongside Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Mahama of Ghana and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.

The Conference brought together Governments and international finance community to discuss investment, business and development.

Tanzania PM who spoke about the investment in his country said “”We are looking at building a new railway line from Dar es Salaam to Rwanda, DRC, Congo etc…”

Mizengo added that “Railway investment is a key for us, but we also need investors keen to develop our main ports.”

Until today Rwanda and Tanzania are using the air and land for transport, but there is no railway joining these two neighboring countries.
