{Members of the judicial fraternity and Rwandans in general have this morning received shocking news of the death of Senator Jean de Dieu Mucyo, who breathed his last this morning as he was doing what we have all always known him for; serving his country. He collapsed and passed away in parliament this morning. }
The Rwanda Parliament communication department has confirmed the death of the Senator who slipped and fell from stairs at around 9am this morning and was rushed to King Faisal Hospital where he later succumbed.
The late joined parliament last year after serving for some time as the executive secretary of the Rwanda Commission for the Fight against the Genocide (CNLG).
His death has been confirmed by Dr Jean Damascene Bizimana, the current executive secretary of CNLG. “It is true that he has collapsed on staircase heading for work,” he has told IGIHE.
Jean de Dieu Mucyo was born on December 7th, 1961 in Nyanza district of Southern Province . He was the son of Mucyowintore Thomas and Uzanyamaberuka Marciana who died when the later was in secondary school.
